Tara Aerobiom Biogeodiversity
The interactions between the ocean and the atmosphere raise questions on the microbial fluxes in between these two environments.
In this study we surveyed the bacterial diversity in the atmosphere by analyzing both airborne and surface ocean bacterial communities across 15,000 kilometers in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, collected during the first year of the Tara Pacific Expedition.
We explore links and significant differences in the spatiotemporal modifications of the bacterial community compositions between the two ecosystems.
